This project was commissioned by a young couple, curious and intelligent clients. They had a precise vision of what they wanted their weekend house to be, but they also trusted us and allowed us creative freedom in this interesting project. In addition to creativity, this was also an engineering challenge, where the wooden structure and all installations were resolved in great detail.
The house is an A-frame with a beautiful, fully glazed front façade. The wooden structure was statically calculated by a structural engineer and reviewed and approved by IZIIS. The connections were carefully detailed in collaboration with the structural engineer, with joints made using bolts whose thicknesses and positions are clearly defined in the drawings. For us, not only aesthetics but also the stability and durability of the structure are especially important, which is why we pay particular attention to this aspect.

This is a small house located on a steep terrain, characteristic of this region. It is elevated from the ground with a basement level, which serves as a small garage for the client’s quad bikes—one of their passions—as well as storage for other additional items.

The ground floor is accessed via exterior stairs leading to a large porch in front of the entrance to the house. The interior layout is simple: the dining and living area are placed right at the entrance, as this is where we have the most natural light. The entire interior is designed mainly with wood and natural materials and tones, in order to blend with the surrounding nature and the lush pine forest. In the central part, the stairs and kitchen are located. In the back part, we managed to fit a toilet and bathroom to the left of the stairs, while to the right, next to the kitchen, is the storage room.

From one of the bedrooms, a ladder leads up to a small, separate corner at the highest part of the roof. Here, skylights are installed on both the left and right sides, which can be fully opened—making this space a small intimate observatory for stargazing, or for reading books and creating memories with their little, sweet daughter.
